Don’t let the Chicago cold slow down your celebration! When our rooftop closes for the season, our vibrant indoor space captures all the tailgate fun while keeping your guests warm. Perfect for intimate and mid-sized gatherings, this space is highly sought after for fall and winter dates. Best of all? We offer very low Food & Beverage (F&B) minimums, making it an accessible, stress-free choice for families looking for an incredible venue without the typical downtown price tag.

Downstairs Capacity: Accommodates up to an additional 125 guests. We can also customize 1959 or any of our other downstairs spaces to be tailored for your event.
Professor Pizza Activation: Take the party to the next level by activating our downstairs restaurant, Professor Pizza, as part of your Mitzvah experience! Serving up some of Chicago’s best slices, it’s a guaranteed hit for the kids and adds a unique, highly craveable layer to your event.

We know that a great Bar or Bat Mitzvah needs to impress two very different crowds: the teens who want to play and eat on the go, and the adults who want an elevated, relaxing culinary experience.
Choose from our fully customizable packages below to build your perfect party. We recommend selecting a few appetizers and then mixing/matching a few stations for adults and young adults.

Second City Theater Tickets
Looking to include a show at Second City in your package? The Fifty/50 Group manages the theater operations at the iconic improv institution and is here to assist.
Add Ons and Additional Amenities are NOT included in the Food & Beverage Minimum. Taxes, fees, and gratuity will be added. Menu selection and all details are due once in contract and must be finalized no later than 15 days prior to the event date.
Utopian Tailgate is located at 1608 N. Wells Street, perched high atop Piper’s Alley in the heart of historic Old Town, just minutes south of Lincoln Park. Whether your guests are driving in from the North Side or taking transit, getting here is a breeze.
Attached Covered Parking: No one needs to stress about street parking or valet lines. Secure, covered parking is available immediately adjacent to the venue at the Piper’s Alley Parking Garage.
Public Transit: We are a quick 3-minute walk from the Sedgwick Brown/Purple Line CTA station and steps from major North Wells bus routes
